- Erling Haaland has four goals in his last five appearances.
City looking to keep pace with Gunners
Manchester City returned to action after the World Cup with a 3-2 win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup and their next league game is a trip to Leeds on Wednesday.
City go into the festive schedule five points behind pacesetters Arsenal in the league and they should be able to keep in touch with the Gunners with three points at Elland Road.
The defending champions are a short price to win on Wednesday so we need to play around with this fixture for a better price, and the handicap market looks a good starting point.
City should be too strong for Leeds
Manchester City won 4-0 when they last visited this venue at the end of last season early in Jesse Marsch’s tenure as Leeds manager, and they thumped the Yorkshire outfit 7-0 at the Etihad last term.
This will be Leeds’ first game since the tournament in Qatar came to an end, whereas City have had a chance to get back to full speed with a tricky cup game against Liverpool and that should work in their favour as well.
Leeds have struggled at the back in recent games and conceded four at Tottenham in their last game before the World Cup break. They did score three themselves that day, but are unlikely to enjoy as much success against a City side who have conceded just 14 goals in as many Premier League games this season.
Leeds have been fairly solid at home, losing just twice so far, but their struggles against City last term suggest they could be in line for a heavy defeat and backing the visitors with a -1 handicap appeals.
Haaland can continue scoring spree
This will be the first time Erling Haaland will have come up against his father Alfie’s former club since he made the move to Manchester and after his strike against Liverpool he looks the standout bet when it comes to an anytime scorer option having hit four goals in his last five games across all competitions.
A 3-0 win for the visitors is the correct score bet as Leeds have conceded three goals in each of their last two games at Elland Road. They have scored six goals themselves during that run, but will struggle to find a way through City’s mean defence so a win to nil for the visitors is expected.
