Real Madrid vs Valencia Predictions 11 Ianuarie 2023
Real Madrid vs Valencia predictions for their Spanish Super Cup clash on Wednesday. Can either team steal a march in the first leg of this semi-final tie? Read on for our free match preview and betting tips
- Both teams have netted in seven of Real Madrid’s last eight matches
- Eight of Valencia’s last 11 games have seen both teams score
- Real have won five of the last six meetings between the two sides
Will Real bounce back?
The Spanish Super Cup returns, and it sees defending champions Real Madrid looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 La Liga defeat to Villarreal at the weekend.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been a little patchy either side of the World Cup, and their defence remains a particular problem, with one clean sheet in eight, and the other seven outings seeing both teams score.
That shows how strong Los Blancos are at the other end of the field though, and they will want to put in a strong display in the first leg of this semi-final as they face a side who they have beaten five times in the last six clashes.
Valencia in a rut
If Real Madrid aren’t exactly in peak form, then the struggles are even greater for Valencia, who lost 1-0 to Cadiz at the weekend, a fourth defeat in their last six La Liga outings.
That has piled the pressure on Gennaro Gattuso, who has seen both teams score in eight of his side’s last 11 matches, a period in which they have managed only two clean sheets.
And while they do tend to be good for a goal, netting in all bar three of their last 20 meetings with Real, they have equally lost six of their eight cup clashes this century.
I predict that both teams will score in this game, but select 2-1 to Real Madrid as a correct score prediction.
