Freiburg need a response

Freiburg had a brilliant chance to reduce Bayern Munich’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings last time out, yet they fell to a 6-0 hammering against Wolfsburg to lose their second-place spot.

That was Freiburg’s worst defeat in over a decade – since 2011/12 – and has left all three sides placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th with identical records… including today’s opponents Eintracht Frankfurt (W9, D3, L4).

Returning home may prove to raise spirits in Freiburg as no side have came here and won since August 2022. Since then, Freiburg have put together a ten-game unbeaten run of home games and they should hold their own once again despite their reality check last time out.

Frankfurt can play their part in a cracker

Returning to Bundesliga action with a rather straightforward win over a frankly poor Schalke side, Eintracht Frankfurt took Freiburg’s second-position in the process.
